Our Vision:
To promote the potential of students in the best possible way
Carol Mutch (2012) informed us that those of us who have been constantly buffeted by the winds of educational change tend to be a little warier. The Government of Uganda has positioned herself to improving the field of education by encouraging and enforcing laws and guidelines for education that is competency based learning which focuses on the learner’s interest and learning needs. It’s a learner centered approach for the secondary level of education in Uganda. “….. each animal has unique strengths…”. The revision involved the Paradigm shift from a content-based curriculum to a competency-based curriculum. This is fully in line with the integrated approach that we pursue with our company.
The content-based curriculum has been criticized for equipping students with knowledge and skills that neither tally with the demands of the world market nor enable its recipients to overcome the complex social and economic challenges of the 21st century’s world (Paulo, 2014).
After completing their education, every student should be able to fulfill his social responsibility. The student should be able to create value. In particular, the student should be able to enter working life and earn an income, either as an employee or by founding a company.
Our Mission:
Provide a first-class education for students in Uganda and across the region
Poor quality education is harmful to the individual and human development, undermining social functioning and economical attainment, with economic burdens and lasting effects on future generations. Although many interventions have been extended to adolescents and young people to increase their education and learning up-take in school in Uganda and the region, many of them have produced mixed results. This requires a lot of resource and technical investment and therefore, government calls for partners, collaborators and private sector to support in this investment and have students stay in school and enjoy school.
BBN integrated company, is investing in the education sector to implemented learner – centered learning that draws from their curiosity and competencies. Good education is the basis for a country to achieve prosperity. We see a great demand for good education in Uganda. The school will implement key aspects of the approaches including:
Learner-centered: The focus shifts to the learner, with the teacher facilitating, posing questions, and guiding their individual or group learning. [we shall need an illustration]
Inquiry-based: Learners explore topics through questioning, research, and investigation. [we shall need an illustration]
Project-based: Learners engage in in-depth project-based learning tasks to investigate, learn, and apply knowledge, starting with a driving question. [we shall need an illustration]
Flipped classroom: Learners engage with material outside of class and in the immediate surroundings, and class time is used for activities and discussion. [we shall need an illustration]
